From her funerary program: Delgracia Robinson Bass, born January 29,
1961, was a precious gift to Odessa and the James Robinson.
On the afternoon of Thursday, April 18,2002, at 5:00 p.m. she
answered God's call from her works to her heavenly home.
DelGracia was a devoted daughter and mother who always put the
interests of her family first. Her son Sefton Douglas Bass III
(affectionately known as Jimmie) and daughter, Allazandra Emily Bass
were the center of her world and she treasured them.
Reared in a Christian home, DelGracia was dedicated and baptized
under the pastorate of Rev. J Vance Mclver. As a child she participated
in Brownies, Girl Scouts and the children's choir.
She attended Heywood Avenue School in Orange, NJ., Our Lady of
Sorrows and Marylawn in So. Orange and received her High School Diploma
from Orange High School. She attended Hampton University in Virginia,
received a bachelor's degree from Bloomfield College and a master's
degree from Kean University.
While in college, DelGracia majored in Theater and minored in
Education. She loved everything about performing theater arts. She
participated in many college shows and took part in presentations at
Symphony Hall, Newark NJ.
Equally as important to DelGracia was her love of teaching. It was
natural to her as acting. She contributed all her energy and time to
motivate her students. Numerous hours were spent before, during and
after school, giving assistance, counseling and directing programs.
In her lifetime DelGracia touched many lives with her winning smile,
positive attitude and upbeat demeanor. Her example of strength and
fortitude served as a beacon fro us all. Her service to her fellow man
and the many lives that she touched will be long remembered.
DelGracia Robinson Bass left treasured memories with her son,
daughter, family and a multitude of friends and acquaintances.
